When: Wednesday, February 26th at 8pm (Doors open at 7pm)
Where: De Neve Plaza on UCLA campus
The UCLA Coaching Corps Chapter is hosting the film, The Rugby Player, in conjunction with UCLA Recreation, UCLA’s Office of Residential Life, the LGBT Center, and UCLA Club Sports. The film is a feature-length documentary portraying how a son’s heroism can inspire a nation, and how a mother’s love can turn unfathomable loss into unshakable resolve. The Rugby Player explores the lives of Mark Bingham, one of the passengers on United Flight 93 on 9/11, and his mother, Alice Hoagland, a former United Airlines flight attendant.
The film is open to all students, and organizers hope it will create a dialogue about inclusion and tolerance on the UCLA Campus – as well as demonstrate the power of sports to change lives.
