UC Santa Cruz Chapter Honored with Service Award

On Wednesday, May 28th, the UC Santa Cruz (UCSC) Coaching Corps chapter was awarded by the UCSC Student Volunteer Center with an Exemplary Service Award for their work with kids in struggling communities during the 2013-2014 Academic Year.

Over three seasons during this school year, UCSC Coaching Corps coaches worked with over 120 elementary and middle-school students who likely otherwise would not have had the benefits of high-quality sports participation with trained, caring and committed coaches.

“I’m extremely proud of our chapter for winning this award after our first full academic year of coaching,” said Samantha Li, president Coaching Corps chapter UCSC. “The coaches have put in a lot of hard work and dedication over the past three seasons and I’m glad we were recognized by the university for our service. I can’t wait to see what the future years brings for this chapter.”

The members couldn’t be more excited to be recognized by the university, for their hard work and dedication to improving the Santa Cruz community. Congratulations to the UC Santa Cruz chapter!
