Coaching Corps is proud to honor Love Rainey as our November Game Changer of the Month!
Love is the Citywide Coordinator for Girls Play LA, a program run by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks focusing on keeping girls involved in sports and living healthy lifestyles while making friends, building self-esteem, and of course, having fun.
A lifelong athlete and resident of Los Angeles, Love has been able to give back to the very community she is from, serving as a strong female role model who creates an environment where young girls feel that they are seen, are safe, and they can bloom. Knowing how critically important gender representation is, Love teaches her athletes how to raise themselves up and raise girls up around them, creating a culture of empowerment.
Love’s motto is that “if you move a muscle, you can change a feeling.” With oversight of more than 100 facilities across the communities of Los Angeles, she amplifies and imbues this philosophy into the curriculum, the events, and the message of her program, providing young girls with the tools on the field that will help them prosper in their lives and beyond.
