On October 5th, Coaching Corps of the San Diego region teamed up with the Southwestern College Lady Jaguars to host a soccer clinic for 31 young people from the William J. Oakes Boys and Girls Club.
During the two hour clinic, the Southwestern College players introduced basic soccer skills and drills to the young athletes including shooting, passing, headers, and ball control. The Lady Jaguars also spent time talking to the youth about the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
“Seeing the smiles on the kids when they learned a new skill was the best part,” said Jennifer Zuniga of the Lady Jaguars. The children’s smiles signaled to everyone that the day was a success. Coaching Corps is grateful to the Jaguars for providing this incredible opportunity for the kids. “I had so much fun and learning from a girl made it even better,” said Jessica, age 11.
