Our Game Changer of the Month for September, Rashida Ford, is a familiar face to many of you. A couple of months back, we featured her organization P.O.P. Inc. as our Partner of the Month and were lucky enough to spend the day with Rashida at her summer Freedom Schools program in Baltimore.
When Rashida is not serving as Executive Director of P.O.P Inc, she can be found in the classroom and on the turf as a professional football player for the Baltimore Nighthawks. It’s that combination of passion and grit that led her to launch P.O.P. Inc out of her living room and, in less than a decade, mold it into one of the preeminent youth organizations serving kids in under-resourced communities in and around Baltimore
Through her efforts, Rashida has demonstrated an unyielding enthusiasm towards developing youth through high quality, purpose-driven programming based on her belief that every child is capable of achievement, and more importantly, that achievement looks different for every child. She believes that it is the responsibility of the community to ensure that every child’s aspirations come to life, which is what she strives to do daily.
