"We run 50 teams for 500 kids, and Coaching Corps makes sure we can run every single season for every single kid. The Coaching Corps coaches are highly committed – more so than other coaches we’ve had here. They come in with all the right paperwork, background checks and training." Andrew Iwanski, Youth Sports Director West Valley YMCA
Our nationally-recognized model prepares volunteers to help fulfill your organization’s goals while reaching youth in an impactful, dynamic way. Since 2002, we have been dedicated to improving the social, emotional, academic and physical outcomes of kids in underserved communities by eliminating the barriers to their participation in great sports programs. Coaching Corps’ model addresses the need for youth in underserved communities to have a positive role model during the afterschool hours – the most unsafe time of day for youth.
To date, we have partnered with hundreds of community organizations and provided thousands of coaches across the country to youth who need us most.
What it Takes
- An afterschool youth sports program that meets at least twice a week and serves youth from underserved communities
- The ability to support and supervise Coaching Corps coaches
- Criminal background check for volunteers
- General liability insurance
If your program doesn’t meet all of the criteria, but you’re interested in bringing a Coaching Corps coach to your organization, don’t worry. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can discuss your options.
