Maggie Tippett is a Chicago Unified School District student who has been inspired by the Coaching Corps movement.
After hearing about us through a service program at her school, Maggie was stunned that she had not heard of Coaching Corps before. And she thought more people should know about our mission.
Maggie took it upon herself to raise the profile of Coaching Corps because “these days kids have more and more distractions from getting the exercise they need.”
She submitted a Letter to the Editor at the Chicago Tribune highlighting Coaching Corps’ work and the positive role sports can play in the lives of young people.
While Coaching Corps has not expanded to Chicago (yet), we are so appreciative of Maggie’s efforts and support.
Check out Maggie’s letter to us and the Letter to the Editor she sent to the Tribune.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
