Coaching Corps coach honored at the White House!

We are thrilled to announce that one of our own has been chosen as a White House Champion of Change winner.  Coaching Corps coach Cameron Hajialiakbar was chosen for his dedication to tackling the childhood obesity crisis by volunteering as a Coaching Corps coach with children in struggling communities.

The Champions of Change program was created as a part of President Obama’s Winning the Future initiative. Each week, a different sector is highlighted and groups of Champions, ranging from educators to entrepreneurs to community leaders, are recognized for the work they are doing to serve and strengthen their communities.

600 people were nominated for this prestigious award and only 13 were chosen.  We are proud of Cameron and so grateful for the commitment of all of our Coaching Corps coaches to get all kids, regardless of race, gender or income safe, healthy and ready to learn.

“For me, and for Coaching Corps, winning means that kids are improving their health and fitness, living up to the potential that exists within them and fulfilling not the prophecies others may have for them but going beyond that and beyond their wildest dreams,” says Cameron.
